The Application Process

Occasionally Admissions Personnel travel overseas to meet candidates for admission. Contact us to see when a trip to your country is planned.

Application Form: Complete the application form and return it to the school with a non-refundable processing fee of US $50.00. Payment can be made by wire transfer only to:

The application deadline is 80 days prior to the commencement of the programme. Late applicants are accepted based on space availability.

Teachers Recommendation Form: Current teachers of students are asked to complete the Teacher Recommendation Form. This form should be mailed directly to The Codrington Language Centre.

Once the Application Form and Teachers Recommendation Form have been reviewed, the Admissions Staff will contact you to confirm acceptance to the programme. Once accepted, a 50% deposit is required 60 days prior to the commencement of the programme and the balance is due 30 days prior to the programme. This fee includes:

Tuition
Housing
School Supplies
Meals
Transportation
Activity Fees (except for the Additional Optional Activities)
2 T-shirts**

** Should students wish to purchase additional t-shirts, these items are available at a cost of US$12.50 in the following sizes: x-small, small, medium, large or x-large.

You may wish to deposit money in The Codrington Language Centre’s Account for use by the student while in Barbados.

Cancellation Policies

Should the applicant cancel his/her attendance prior to 45 days before the start date of the course, 75% of the deposit will be refunded.

Information Package

Upon confirmation of the student’s admission to the programme, The Codrington Language Centre will send the following information:

Emergency Medical Treatment Authorization - Medical Insurance Form
General information on Barbados.
Information on the family that the student will be placed with and contact details.
A list of clothing and other articles that students should bring.
A recommendation of the amount of spending money the student should have access to.
A detailed outline of the programme schedule.

The Emergency Medical Treatment Authorization - Medical Insurance Form must be presented to the Centre's Coordinator upon arrival in Barbados.

In addition, the student must send to the Centre a health certificate (confirming that he/she has had a full physical examination) and a copy of his/her immunization record prior to arrival in Barbados.

Note: It is the responsibility of the student to procure all necessary immigration requirements for entry and study in Barbados.
