The Application Process
Do Admissions Personnel meet candidates prior to admission?
The Application Process: Occasionally Admissions Personnel travel overseas to meet candidates for admission. Contact us to see when a trip to your country is planned.
 
How do I apply?
Application Form: Please complete the application form and return it to the school with the Teacher's Recommendation Form.
A non-refundable processing fee of US $50.00 must be sent via wire transfer to:

The application deadline is 80 days prior to the commencement of the program. Late applicants are accepted based on space availability.
 
How does The Codrington Language Centre place students in the correct class?
Student Placement: Each student is assessed through a short appraisal in English to determine his or her level of proficiency. This assessment assists us in the correct placement of the student.

Teachers Recommendation Form: Where applicable, current teachers of students are asked to complete the Teacher’s Recommendation Form. This form is mailed directly to The Codrington Language Centre Inc. and is a confidential document.
 
When will I know if the student has been accepted to the programme?
Confirmation of Enrollment: Once the Application Form and Teacher's Recommendation Form have been reviewed, and the non-refundable processing fee has been received, the Admissions Staff will contact you to confirm acceptance to the programme.
 
What does the Information Package include?
Information Package: Upon confirmation of the student’s admission to the program, The Codrington Language Centre Inc. will provide the following information:

  • Emergency Medical Treatment Authorization - Medical Insurance Form 
  • General information on Barbados. 
  • Information on the family that the student will be placed with and contact details. 
  • A list of clothing and other articles that students should bring.
  • A recommendation of the amount of spending money the student should have access to. 
  • A detailed outline of the program schedule.
