Health and Insurance
Are health records required?
Health: Prior to their arrival in Barbados, students are required to provide a health certificate (confirming that they have had a full physical examination) accompanied by their immunization record. It is vital that complete healthcare information is provided. Medical information will be kept strictly confidential, however it is important that we are made aware of medical history particularly those students who may have special conditions.
 
Is there a qualified health official on staff?
Medical Professional: The Codrington School has a qualified health official on duty, while doctors and hospital services are always available on the island. Parents or Guardians will be required to complete and submit the Emergency Medical Treatment Authorization - Medical Insurance form that grants The Codrington Language Centre Inc. permission to authorize medical treatment in the event of a medical emergency. In this form, parents or guardians are also asked to confirm who will pay for student’s medical treatment while he/she is participating in the programme. Please note, families may have their own insurance, which provides coverage for the student are urged to send some medical insurance forms to be completed by the attending physician or medical entity in the event of any medical attention.
